The team at GMAC Plastering has completed thousands of plastering projects in Jersey, England and Ireland. From one-off small-scale to enterprise-level projects. Each project is completed with the same professionalism and quality no matter the size.

Along with our team of highly skilled plasterers, we also have a fleet of machines which can also machine apply plaster. This method works well and can be quicker to apply in large spaces.

We can provide helpful services and offer a wealth of advice on the best materials to use.

What type of plastering services do we offer?

  • Internal Float and Set

Traditional style of plastering sometimes known as wet plastering. The system requires a wet undercoat plaster such as sand and cement or browning/bonding coat which is then troweled onto the walls usually around 11mm thick.

When the undercoat plaster has set to a semi-firm state, the skim coat is then applied. The system is much more highly skilled than plasterboard and skim because it requires the wet coat to be screeded off level with a straight edge to a tolerance of 3mm and is much harder work due to the amount of constant mixing required. The advantages are it produces a much greater sound density than boards and is an excellent insulator too!

  • Internal Reskims

Quick, easy, and cost effective, internal reskims give a neat, clean look to inside surfaces.

Internal skim finishes are a plaster finish that can be applied directly to the underside of a first floor slab, underneath a concrete staircase or directly onto concrete bulk heads, perfect for concealing unsightly substrate, these finishes can avoid the need for a suspended ceiling or gyprock lining.

They are also ideal for areas with limited space.

  • External Insulated Rendering Systems

An external insulated render system is a multi-layered approach to thermal insulation on the outside of a building. It usually comprises some form of rigid insulation, such as boards or sheets, which are then covered by a reinforcing mesh, render base coat and finishing coat.

This system has clear benefits in that it can vastly improve the heat retention properties of existing walls and offers an improved appearance, with the finishing coat of render providing a fresh, smooth look.

  • Coloured Render Systems

Coloured render is the name given to a range of different modern exterior coating render products.

The render product is mixed with a colour pigment during the manufacturing process resulting in the actual render material being coloured all the way through rather than just applied as a top coat as is the case with traditional render.

  • Sand & Cement Render

Sand & Cement render is the application of a mortar mix of sand, cement and water to brick/mud-brick, concreteor stone.

It is often textured, colored, or painted after application and generally used on exterior walls but can be used to feature an interior wall.

  • Plaster-Boarding

Plaster-boarding (also known as plasterboard, drywall, wallboard, gypsum board) is a panel made of gypsum plaster pressed between two thick sheets of paper.

It is used to make interior walls and ceilings. Drywall construction became prevalent as a speedier alternative to traditional lath and plaster.
